My Pregnancy

4.25.14

How far along: Today I am 4 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I don’t know. Probably a couple of pounds since I’m not exercising but eating whateva I want. Plus, I did go through a winter bulking phase. In general, I’m a little bigger.

Maternity clothes? No, not yet. But my leggings are getting a bit tight around my waste; this is most likely attributed to the winter bulking phase mentioned above.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: This one’s tricky. I think I have too much energy and don’t require a lot of sleep…? I’m not exerting five miles worth of energy most days because I’m probably not going to run again until the second trimester. So I’m not too tired at night, but I guess I fall asleep fairly easily. Another issue is I’ve been waking up around 4:30 a.m. to use the restroom; so I’ve been taking my pregnancy tests at that time. After analyzing them for 10 minutes, I’m essentially awake and can’t get back to sleep. So—let’s just say—I’m not one of those super tired, falling asleep all the time pregnant women … yet.

Best moment of this week: Seeing those two pink lines on 4.22.14! Miss anything? I miss running a little bit. I also miss not worrying all damn day. Every time I use the ladies room, I worry I’ll see pink or red (because it’s all I know).

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I swear I’m eating my college-style spaghetti tonight for dinner. I don’t need it from a fancy restaurant. I want to cook those noodles myself (and not even the wheat kind); poor some marinara sauce on top; and sprinkle it with a s*** load of Parmesan cheese. I don’t know; I’ve wanted this for a couple of days now.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing.

Gender: I have no idea!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I get this light-headed, floating sensation with early HCG. It’s very difficult to explain, but I started feeling that way on Sunday, 4.20.14. And—no—it wasn’t because I was high on weed (Boulder, CO 4.20 reference). There are moments I feel a bit weak and my body feels a bit fatigued. I have all kinds of cramps that come and go. I think it has something to do with my satiety; I can’t get away with not eating once my stomach is empty. Also I can’t concentrate. I don’t know if my mind is just preoccupied or if my body/mind just isn’t allowing me to git er done.

5.2.14

How far along: Today I am 5 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I can tell you that the number isn’t going down … 😉 But – I haven’t officially weighed myself in a couple of weeks anyway.

Maternity clothes? No, but I did use the hair tie trick on a pair of my freshly dry cleaned work pants. This has nothing to do with my pregnancy – I guarantee you.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: I sleep fine, I think..? My husband says I am restless. I use the restroom at least once in the middle of the night – if not twice before I get out of bed for good. Again, I’m not exerting a lot of energy these days but can easily fall asleep when it’s time to turn out the light.

Best moment of this week: The phone calls I received on 4.29.14 at 2:17 p.m. and yesterday at 1 p.m. They informed me of my 1,309 and 2,381 betas, respectively!

Miss anything? I miss running, but it’s really not that big of a deal. 🙂

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I’ve eaten three or four servings of my college-style spaghetti. I don’t crave anything in particular; I’m just a big fan of food in general. Okay, maybe the vision of Chick-Fil-A shakes dance through my head often.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Not yet.

Gender: We still have to find out how many are cookin’ in there!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Holy cow, talk about dizziness a few days ago. I think it might have been a combo of pregnancy and withdrawal (antidepressants) though. The intense dizziness has subsided, but I’m still light-headed. I get my little variations of cramps still. Coincidentally, today I started feeling not so fantastic! Yay! I mean I’m okay but feel on either end of illness or something. Also, my body is tired and fatigued. I don’t think I need to nap, but I’m a little tired in general. Pregnancy brain: I had the hardest time the other day concentrating on an accounting topic at work. Like, literally, I had to take multiple moments to wrap my head around the issue. In general, my husband can tell that I’m a little special right now. 🙂 Also, my boobs are sore; I think they’re becoming for-real sore and not just PIO sore …? Okay, and this is probably TMI, but I don’t usually care for my husband touching my chest. Lately, I’ve realized what all the fuss is about. It feels nice vs. annoying.

5.9.14

How far along: Today I am 6 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? Uh, like one pound.

Maternity clothes? No, but I’m still using the hair-tie trick on a pair of my work pants. I could button them regularly if I reeeeally wanted to, but I don’t. 🙂 Again, this has very little nothing to do with the babes.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Doing just fine. I think I still wake maybe once during the night…?

Best moment of this week: Seeing my babies’ heart beats and celebrating this victory with my peeps! I am having TWINS, and I am absolutely thrilled!

Miss anything? Eh, not really. It’s allll good.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: Hmmm no … Well, I did have a craving for a warm chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream. Those who know me can tell you that “craving” is really nothing out of the ordinary.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Yea. I’ve begun to feel queasy a little bit. Nothing in particular is triggering it. But it has begun (finally)!

Gender: Ohhh I don’t know! We shall see!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Still a little light-headed at times. Vaginal discharge; yummy, right? My breasts are a bit tender, but I don’t know if that’s the PIO, the pregnancy, or whatever. Also, they have swelled up a bit. 🙂 Hmm … tiredness. I just get exhausted easily. I started feeling the infamous queasiness at 5 weeks and 6 days. But I’m not complaining! I can’t wait to feel like crap to know my babes are growing. 🙂 The food aversions have set in. I had a headache yesterday. Oh, I think I’m getting a bit of acne. I still have some cramping at times. I think that’s about it.

5.16.14

How far along: Today I am 7 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? Actually … I gained .7 pounds, then lost 1.8 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Not yet … same ol’ tricks. Are my jeans feeling tighter though? 🙂

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Pretty good. I do wake up one or two times during the night, but no biggie.

Best moment of this week: Seeing my babies again! Also, vomiting for the first time on Mother’s Day!

Miss anything? I miss my love affair with food.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: No. Quite the opposite actually. Again, my love affair with food has temporarily ended. Oh, but I’m kind of in love with orange juice right now.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. Going too long without food doesn’t help.

Gender: Ohhh I don’t know! We shall see!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Nausea and food aversion for sure. I still have some cramping here and there. I also get some tiny headaches. I am pretty tired. Also, my digestion is just off, so there’s bloating and gas. I understand digestion slows down a bit …? Well, that’s what it feels like.

5.23.14

How far along: Today I am 8 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? Overall, about one pound.

Maternity clothes? Not yet … same ol’ tricks.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Oh, sleep is good. I love sleep. 🙂

Best moment of this week: DEFinitely seeing my babies again, and they were doing sooo well. 🙂

Miss anything? I still miss my love affair with food.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: It’s tricky to identify what I’m in the mood for. But when I need to eat, I NEED TO EAT.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. Going too long without food doesn’t help.

Gender: Ohhh I don’t know! We shall see!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I still have some nausea and food aversion. I’m pretty darn tired and just spent. I have realized that pregnancy brain is oh so real. Also, I’m pretty emotional. I cry quite a bit and am irritable. My breasts are sore and big. 🙂 I still have some discharge. I’m not cramping as much anymore.

5.30.14

How far along: Today I am 9 weeks 0 days. Wow, 9 weeks already?!

Total weight gain? 3.5 pounds. I’ve hit 120, whoa.

Maternity clothes? Not yet … My jeans are legit getting tighter, though.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Can’t complain. All is well. It’s just hard getting out of bed.

Best moment of this week: My husband and I went to Ikea and Buy Buy Baby last Saturday. I can’t believe I can look at baby clothes without that ache in my heart. It’s surreal. 🙂

Miss anything? I do still miss liking food. Also, I am starting to miss exercise. I usually exercise in the morning, but that just seems like the worst time to work out for a pregnant woman in the first trimester. I’m also too scared to do too much right now.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂 Food cravings: No, not really. Well, maybe fruity foods …? I think it’s more about what I can actually stand to eat.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. I still can’t get away with an empty stomach for too long. Got to keep these babes fed!

Gender: Ohhh I don’t know! We shall see!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Nausea and food aversion. My breasts are permanently larger, though there’s not too much tenderness. I’m just bigger – that’s more related to weight gain though. Oh, and I’m happy to know the difference between blood from hemorrhoids and uterine/vaginal blood, or else there would have been a few freak outs. Too much? My mood seems to be stabilizing, or I’ve just gotten used to the irritability…? I think I’m using the ladies’ room more often, but I am also making more of a conscious effort to drink a ton of water.

6.6.14

How far along: Today I am 10 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? TBD. I forgot to weigh myself this morning. Update: My weight didn’t change this week; 120 pounds give or take a few ounces.

Maternity clothes? Not yet … Just the hair tie trick on all things pants.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Goodly. 🙂 It seems pretty normal; I just hate “getting going” in the morning – very unlike me.

Best moment of this week: My 9.5-week ultrasound four days ago! I officially graduated from Shady Grove. The babies looked just so wonderful. 🙂

Miss anything? I miss my enjoyment of food. I can’t enjoy meat at all. That really limits the options of a meat-eater. Okay … am I going to miss my hormone supplements (PIO, Del Estrogen, Endometrin)? I don’t know; I think it’s a little bittersweet. My last PIO was two weeks ago, and I’ve been taking Endometrin for the last two weeks. I have one more applicator tonight, and then I’m done. Endometrin was associated with horrific memories, but it has redeemed itself these last few weeks. My last Del Estrogen shot was two days ago; I had been taking it for three months. It’s just weird not bringing an ice pack to bed with me every night now.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I think I like fruit and stuff. But – really – food just kind of stinks right now.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. I just have a sensitive stomach these days, which is unlike me. It is challenging for me to address Sarabi’s “waste” or handle the smell of her Six Fish food. The tummy is just a bit on edge.

Gender: I think I can sense the presence of a particular gender. One or both babies? I don’t know. I think there’s a boy in there, though.

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I’m kind of headache-y. My brain can only handle so much, and my mental endurance has diminished. The girls up top are so large and in charge! I really am loving it. Last week I said they aren’t really sore; nope, they are – just on and off soreness. My mom mentioned to me that she used to get really out of breath. I’m definitely starting to feel that now. I still have some nausea. Actually, today I told my acupuncturist that I thought it was subsiding; I didn’t know how to feel about that since I’m only 10 weeks. Well … then when I returned to work I went to the ladies’ room and lost my lunch. 🙂 So, I’m not sure there’s much to worry about – it’s still there. Oh yea, hemorrhoids – there’s that. Also, I think there’s some gassy stuff going on. I’m so feminine, huh?

6.13.14

How far along: Today I am 11 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I haven’t really gained any weight. Maybe a total of two pounds. Got to get on that…

Maternity clothes? Not yet. I think I’ll stick with the hair ties for a while. Not much is growing/has grown besides by bump and my boobs. 🙂

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: Very good; can’t complain. 🙂 Well … actually, two days ago I woke up at 4 a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep. My stomach was sour from needing food, my breath tasted disgusting. It was just the start of kind of a rough day in terms of sickness.

Best moment of this week: I got to see my precious little ones at 10 weeks + 4 days during my first official OB appointment. She referred me to a maternal fetal specialist whom I will visit in two weeks, then I will see my OB again two weeks after that.

Miss anything? Food. I miss loving it.

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I actually had some chocolate cravings this week! But – not really craving much.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing in particular. It just depends on when my body decides it doesn’t like something randomly. But – oh – if I don’t eat. Oh, that is bad news.

Gender: Ohhh, I don’t know yet. But I’ve learned that my babies are developing their special organs now. 🙂

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: From head to toe – Some acne; weird blotches on my skin; horribly unbearable morning breath; burp-y/hiccup-y action; the girls are looking big; sensations in my belly sometimes, like stretching or something; gas; frequent urination and a pretty urgent sensation to GO even when I haven’t consumed that much liquid; some discharge here and there; vivid dreams more frequently than before. I’m not as nauseous throughout the day anymore, but I vomited more this week than any other weeks combined. I even lost it twice on Tuesday!

2014-06-14 17.08.52

6.21.14

How far along: Today I am 12 weeks 1 day.

Total weight gain? I gained one pound this week, and I can’t say it was from eating. I’m up about three pounds now!

Maternity clothes? My mom bought me a belly band, so I use that now instead of the hair tie trick on my pants. My mom bought me a bunch of maternity clothes; I’ve only worn one shirt. It tailors to tiny bumps like mine, though, so it doesn’t really look like a maternity shirt … yet.

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: The ZZZs are going very well. I am more tired in general, and simple activities suck away my energy. It’s as if my mental and physical endurance has decreased significantly.

Best moment of this week: Spending time with family this week! Last weekend my parents visited, and we also spent time with my brother and sister-in-law who are moving to the area. And now we are in Florida visiting with my mother-in-law and my husband’s extended family. So, it has been a treat to celebrate this pregnancy with loved ones in-person.

Miss anything? I think I still miss food. I kind of miss exercise too. I think things are getting better, though – slowly but surely. I am feeling more and more like my food-loving self. I need to begin an exercise regimen again just to get some of the crazies* out. But really, there aren’t too many crazies these days because I’m so full of joy. 🙂

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I would say I enjoy fruit more than normal. But – I’ve yet to experience those glorious pregnancy cravings. I’m looking forward to that. 🙂

Anything make you queasy or sick? There’s nothing in particular that triggers the sickness. My body just decides when it’s time to get rid of something. I don’t struggle with over-eating or getting too full; I just can’t handle too large of meals. But, I can’t go too long without eating. Too long being a couple of hours …

Gender: I don’t know, but I think we will know soon enough! I can’t believe we are within about a month of finding out! SURREAL.

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I’ve had some annoying headaches for which I take Tylenol. I have acne. The breasts are larger but really not that tender it seems. I still have aversion toward food and experience nausea. Again, my endurance has plummeted. I have some mood swings. My breath – yuck. Also, my mouth just feels so dirty when I eat sugary snacks; I’ve been brushing my teeth more often now. Also, I’ve got some weird stuff going on with my skin. I have dime-sized (or smaller) red marks all over my chest and back. They feel dry but don’t bother me. I know pregnancy can cause some skin conditions; I don’t know what I have though. Have any of you experienced this?

Belly button in or out? In.

*Crazies are my moments of anxiety/depression, but I don’t seem to have too many of those moments these days. 🙂

2014-06-24 18.49.19

6.27.14

How far along: Today I am 13 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I think just three pounds still.

Maternity clothes? I wear my belly band quite a bit. Also, I wore a maternity dress this week that tailors to teeny tiny bumps like mine. My husband said it accentuated my bump, so – hey – I’ll take that!

Stretch marks? No.

Sleep: I think I’m having a bit of trouble getting to sleep…? Also, I hate getting out of bed. I am one lazy, slow girl in the morning. 🙂

Best moment of this week: Deeeeefinitely seeing my precious li’l thangs. They are too sweet for words. I love having the reassurance that they are healthy and thriving. Hearing their hearts beating for the first time brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes I can’t believe I am carrying them. I know they’re in there, but it’s so amazing to peek inside the womb and see for myself.

Miss anything? I still miss food – specifically cravings. I think things are getting better, though, regarding food. I could say I miss my physical and mental endurance, but you know what? My body is kicking my butt providing for these miracles, and that’s just. the way. I like it. 🙂

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: Eh, not really. I’m still digging my way out of the I’d-rather-not-eat-at-all hole – which obviously is NOT an option.

Anything make you queasy or sick? My prenatal vitamins, Folgard, and Baby Aspirin mustn’t be taken on an empty or even half empty stomach. Things just don’t go well. Other than that, my body decides when it wants to vomit, and off I scurry to the ladies’ room.

Gender: I don’t know! But soon! Soon, all things gender shall be revealed. 🙂

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Acne, headaches, this weird skin condition. My breath seems to be less disgusting in the morning – this week. I think my nails are growing quicker; it must be the pregnancy itself because I was on my vitamin regimen well before getting knocked up. I think poor ‘gus is a little bit irritated from the vomiting. Speaking of which, this week was a bit rough with regard to sickness, so I vomited more than I expected to – if that makes any sense. Do babies get tired after performing for the ultrasound tech? I wonder if my half-hour ultrasound on Tuesday took a toll. I’m always hungry – basically. I do get that painful gas sometimes but am relieved of it fairly easily. 🙂 Oh yea, hemorrhoids. The size of my breasts never seize to amaze the baby daddy. 🙂 I can’t pinpoint what I feel in my belly. Sometimes it feels stretchy; sometimes I’m bloated. Does pregnancy put more strain on the ab muscles? Sometimes I find myself just wanting to let it all hang out and give the abs a rest. It’s not that I’m constantly sucking in my stomach, but I think I’m doing less of what I was doing before. It’s weird, though; I can definitely sense a presence in my belly.

7.4.14

How far along: Today I am 14 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I’m up four pounds.

Maternity clothes? I wear my belly band band with pants and am making great use of my maternity dresses!

Stretch marks? No, but my belly is looking “fuzzy” – almost as if it’s dry. It’s not itchy though; it just looks different.

Sleep: I love sleep! It is truly one of my most valuable necessities these days. It’s going pretty well right now too.

Best moment of this week: Yesterday, toward the end of the work day, I was listening to some songs about His promises. I would listen to these songs in the past with an aching heart and yearn for the faith to believe He would be faithful. Well, yesterday I got to hear those songs in a different light. I love moments when I realize my dreams are coming true.

Miss anything? I think I still miss food a bit, but it’s getting better. I’m actually really excited for our 4th of July cookout today! Well – okay – at the moment, not so excited since I just woke up. Sometimes I miss my pre-pregnancy caloric needs. Good heavens, it feels like all I do is EAT. I guess it’s not so much the eating, but I hate spending extra money on extra food. Oh well, I’ve got to feed these babies!

Movement: Not yet. 🙂

Food cravings: I really don’t have any. I’m starting to wonder if they even exist because I would LOVE to participate but just am not feelin’ it.

Anything make you queasy or sick? I mean, anything can really. Last week I was cooking some sausage for my husband. BIG mistake. Huge. Ugh – disgusting. The smell of my vitamins is much worse than actually taking them. They trigger some nausea though.

Gender: I don’t know! I wonder if 14.5 weeks is too soon to find out. My next OB appointment is on Tuesday.

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I think the acne is better this week. I still get headaches. My skin is suffering from PUPPP or something like it. My boobs are basically gigantic. My bra cups don’t even cover my nipples. I could eat whenever; I’m always hungry. I still have some nausea and definitely food aversion. I’m a bit congested. My esophageal eosinophilia is taking something WAY too serious. Since becoming pregnant, I can’t eat Chinese/Thai food without my mouth and esophagus swelling up, and proceeding to vomit every last content of my stomach. This has happened twice now – once at 8 weeks gestation and once at 13 weeks. I think it has to do with peanut oil or something. It’s not just peanuts; Mama can bomb on some Snickers bars. There is some ingredient in these cuisines that does not play well with my body. I don’t get cramps really, but I think my belly needs some stretching in the morning after being curled up at night. Sometimes I get sharp little twinges in what feels like my groin area I guess. Also my esophagus is a bit more acidic these days I think. Do you want to know how I really feel? I. feel. pregnant. 🙂

How far along: Today I am 15 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? TBD – I forgot to weigh myself this morning!

Maternity clothes? I wear my belly band band with pants and am making great use of my maternity dresses! I like to wear close-fitting blouses, too, so I can show off my bump. It won’t be too long before those aren’t an option anymore!

Stretch marks? No, but my belly is looking different. I didn’t realize the skin changed so much; I imagine stretch marks are on their way.

Sleep: Going very well. The only problem I have is interrupting it with an alarm clock.

Best moment of this week: Oh, my favorite moment was most definitely seeing my babies on Tuesday! B kicked A’s sac, and A waved to us. They are too sweet. They were wiggling around; I can’t believe I don’t feel them with all that movement. Okay … Do I feel them though? 😉

Miss anything? Hmmm … not much. I am very happy and content. The food thing is getting better. The love affair is slowly returning.

Movement: I don’t think so …? 🙂

Food cravings: I do well with pizza. I’ve not identified anything I HAVE to have though.

Anything make you queasy or sick? The thought of my prenatal vitamins et al and the smell of Sarabi’s food. I haven’t vomited since Sunday, though! I think the second trimester promises are on their way in!

Gender: I think there’s at least one boy. Last night I had a dream there were two boys. I’m sure we will find out at our 16.5-week high-risk appointment.

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches. Acne and PUPPP are better. Still some food aversion and nausea or sickness. The boobs are big but aren’t really sore anymore. I think they will start producing/storing milk next week! I wonder if I’ll leak!!! The belly feels tight and stretchy. My Baby A was low and resting on my bladder on Tuesday; that doesn’t go unnoticed. 😉 I go to the restroom quite a bit. The morning breath situation is getting better. Some of my food allergies are stronger. I think my milk/dairy food allergy is stronger during pregnancy. I’m hungry a lot. My nails grow a bit quicker. I get tired more easily, and my mental endurance is still a bit lacking. I’m a little more forgetful than normal.

7.18.14

How far along: Today I am 16 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I’m 121 pounds as of this morning. That’s about five pounds or so.

Maternity clothes? I wear my belly band with pants and love to wear my maternity dresses. I can still wear normal seats and “gym” shorts, etc.

Stretch marks? None yet.

Sleep: I love sleep. I hate my alarm clock … or just mornings in general.

Best moment of this week: Hmmm … I think I am starting to feel them, but I really don’t know. When I think I feel them, it is so wonderful! Also, I like to think that Baby A is resting on my bladder, so I tell myself that I feel her when my restroom parts feel funny!

Miss anything? I don’t really “miss” anything. I mean, I’d much rather have this than have those things I’m “missing” in a non-pregnant state. But I do miss food and my physical/mental endurance. And I miss liking mornings and feeling rested.

Movement: I don’t know, but it’s bound to happen soon, right?!

Food cravings: Coca-Cola Slurpees. 🙂

Anything make you queasy or sick? Anything can do it. I cook these Andouille sausages for my husband. The smell … oh the smell. 😦

Gender:  I have my guesses. I don’t know if they’re just random or gut feelings. I think Baby A is a girl and Baby B is a boy.

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches. Fatigue and exhaustion. I get winded very easily. I trotted for seconds yesterday returning the grocery cart; my legs felt so heavy. It was intense. The girls up top are large but not really sore anymore. My nipples are big. My belly is growing of course. 🙂 I still have food aversion and nausea. Sometimes my digestion feels a little off. I think I’ve gotten used to the extra caloric intake so I don’t feel famished so quickly; I’ve just gotten into the habit of eating. all. the. time.

Maternity clothes? Yes! My belly band and maternity dresses.

Stretch marks? None yet.

Sleep: It’s great! I’m so thankful I’ve been sleeping well. 🙂

Best moment of this week: Finding out we are having two beautiful GIRLS! Absolutely perfect. 🙂

Miss anything? Eh, no point worrying about what I miss because I wouldn’t trade this for a darn thing. 🙂

Movement: I think so, but there’s not a ton of movement. I can’t wait to feel them wiggle a lot!

Food cravings: I quite enjoy a lovely dark fountain soda. 🙂 I don’t really have cravings though.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nothing is off limits.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches, nausea, tiredness. I become short of breath very easily. My boobs are quite large, and the veins are getting darker. Of course my bump and tummy texture are always changing. 🙂 Maternal fat storage. 😉 Vivid, odd dreams. Tail bone hurts at the end of the work day. Food aversion.

Maternity clothes? Yes! I still wear my belly band and maternity dresses. Also, I had to get new bras that I wear now – 32 C to 34 DD. Day-um!

Stretch marks? None yet.

Sleep: It’s going well for the most part. I do wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom quite a bit, but I’m just thankful I’m able to sleep. 🙂

Best moment of this week: We received some test results specifically for Baby B because of her choroid plexus, and there were no abnormalities found! Thank you, Jesus. And – the tests confirmed the absence of the Y chromosome. 🙂 Both babes are healthy according to the blood test.

Miss anything? Not really. 🙂

Movement: Yes, I do feel little pops here and there. Sometimes I feel pressure down low; I think they are moving …? Or at least my Baby A is moving, and I feel the pressure.

Food cravings: No cravings really.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Anything can trigger it. I think I lost it once this week…? Not bad.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches. every. day. … Big boobs. Gas – oh lots of gas. Stretch pains/round ligament pains. Still some nausea and food aversion, but this was the best week yet! Also, I think I am gaining some more of my energy back! I definitely go to the ladies’ room a lot.

8.8.14

How far along: Today I am 19 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? About ten pounds total (but I just ate dinner).

Maternity clothes? I am wearing my belly band, maternity dresses, and certain non-pregnancy clothing items just don’t fit right anymore. 😉

Stretch marks? None yet.

Sleep: It’s going pretty well, but I have to empty my bladder a lot before really settling in for the night. Sometimes I get charlie horses too! I don’t know if they’re pregnancy-related. Probably not, but last night – ouch!

Best moment of this week: Seeing my sweet babies and having a successful OB appointment. I have struggled with my blood pressure in the past; I always get nervous going to the doctor, so my blood pressure reads high. Part of me worried about this a bit for pregnancy. I’ve kept things under control, though, and my blood pressure has been totally normal.

Miss anything? There’s really not much to miss. I’ve waited my whole life for this!

Movement: Yes, I definitely feel them now! I love their movement. 🙂

Food cravings: I’ve been craving kabobs. I’ve also enjoyed Bomb Pops popsicles. 🙂 Oh, and there’s this cheese ravioli from this one restaurant – yum!

Anything make you queasy or sick? Anything can make me queasy. Oddly, brushing my teeth will trigger some nausea…? My vitamins also trigger some queasiness, but they’re not as bad as they were.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches, but they seem to be less and less. Large breasts. I think I get these warm sensations in my nipples sometimes …? I’m still a little fatigued but am gaining my energy back; it’s more physical fatigue. My husband and I painted the nursery last weekend, and I felt like I’d run – eh – 10 miles. I had to lounge around and rest the next day. I still have some food aversion and icky feelings but mostly just in the morning.

8.15.14

How far along: Today I am 20 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? About ten pounds total, damnit. I feel like I should have gained more weight by now, but – I mean – my girls are growing and are checked on by a doctor every other week. My OB knows my weight and hasn’t mentioned concern. Gimme some pounds though!

Maternity clothes? Yep! Basically only lounge clothes/sweats are not maternity. The belly band is awesome; I can wear my “normal” pants with it.

Stretch marks? None yet.

Sleep: Going well! I’m feeling more normal regarding sleep – not tired all the time; don’t need as much sleep; am actually able to get out of bed early-ish in the mornings.

Best moment of this week: I got to see my bugs twice this week! Once during a scheduled appointment; once during an unscheduled/emergency appointment. Stress + Hemorrhoids = Anxiety and worry about vaginal bleeding. Nope, just the butt crack.

Miss anything? No … This is the BEST.

Movement: Yes, I feel them now, and I just love it. I mean, it’s the absolute best. 🙂

Food cravings: Caramel apple suckers. Yum!

Anything make you queasy or sick? Not really. 🙂 I think that ship has sailed!

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I get winded easily. Sometimes I need some caffeine, so a little fatigue. Some acne. My upper back is effed up, but that’s more because of work, not my sweet girls. The boobs just. keep. growing. They are vein-y too. Obviously the bump is growing, and my belly has that texture/look to it. Perhaps stretch marks are on the verge … Hemorrhoids. Frequent urination.

8.22.14

How far along: Today I am 21 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I’ve gained about 12 pounds total. This week was a big week for growth!

Maternity clothes? Absolutely! Belly band, maternity dresses. I busted out the maternity work pants – sooo comfortable. 🙂

Stretch marks? Yes, on the undersides of my boobs. Also, I think stretch marks are starting to form on my belly.

Sleep: Oh, it’s awesome! My husband bought me a Snoogle last weekend – pure genius. That thing is amazing. He calls it my fat nest. I love it. 🙂

Best moment of this week: My husband felt the girls for the first time last night. We were discussing our work days, and they were moving around. I put his hand to my belly quickly, hoping they’d continue. At first, he said he didn’t feel anything except something that felt like a tiny pulse. I said, “That’s it! It feels like a pulse.” I feel them all the time now; it is so awesome. 🙂

Miss anything? Nooot really. Maybe certain foods; I still struggle with food aversion here and there.

Movement: Yes! Totally – it’s the best!

Food cravings: Nothing new or extraordinary. I don’t know if I’ll experience the whole pregnant woman food-craving thing, but that’s okay. 🙂

Anything make you queasy or sick? I’m mostly okay, but the last few days have been a little bit of a struggle. I think this week was SO big for our growth, I’m feeling a little sick. And it’s not that I eat too much, but if I eat a significant portion in one sitting, it’s a little nauseating.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Hair and nail SUPER growth. I haven’t had a bloody nose or gums, but there’s definitely that whole increased blood flow situation going on … A little bit of congestion and sneezing. The boobs just keep growing; they aren’t sore anymore though. Of course the belly is growing, and the tightness/stretching was significant this week. My upper back and shoulders are tight, though my Snoogle helps a ton. I also got a prenatal massage this week, which helped! Other “things” are better since I’ve begun a Metamucil regimen. Of course, I get tired and winded easily. I just feel pregnant. 🙂

Belly button in or out? In, and the belly button ring is still holding on!

Weddings rings on or off? On.

8.29.14

How far along: Today I am 22 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I’ve gained about 13 pounds total.

Maternity clothes? Yep! And the jeans with the belly band aren’t working out so well anymore. My gym shorts are getting a bit too snug too. I’m all about those mommy pants now!

Stretch marks? Yes, I have some stretch marks on my boobs.

Sleep: And so it begins … Sleep hasn’t been fantastic, but it hasn’t been horrible either. I just wake up all the time and have trouble falling asleep. The whole bladder situation doesn’t help, and though I LOVE my Snoogle, it’s a bit of an ordeal finding my way out of my fat nest every five minutes to use the restroom. Plus, I’m worried that I’m such a disturbance to the baby daddy!

Best moment of this week: My husband got to feel even stronger kicks this week! As the girls get stronger, it really is such a joy to feel all their movement. 🙂

Miss anything? No.

Movement: Yes! I love it! Such a cool sensation.

Food cravings: Not really. I’m still loving my caramel apple suckers, cheese ravioli from this particular restaurant, and Coca-Cola.

Anything make you queasy or sick? You know, nothing really makes me feel sick anymore. It’s all good in that department.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Acne. Backaches from breast and belly growth. Frequent urination … Like really frequent. Sleep is becoming a struggle. I get winded easily. I think I’m feeling warmer …? Usually my husband keeps our home nice and cool, and I curl up with a blanket, but I’ve been wondering lately why the heck it’s so hot at home! Some congestion. I’m kind of tired, but it’s really just related to the sleep situation.

Belly button in or out? In.

Weddings rings on or off? On …? But they have been off for a couple of days now; I’m not sure if that’s permanent though.

9.6.14

How far along: Today I am 23 weeks 1 day.

Total weight gain? I don’t have access to a scale this weekend, but I imagine I’ve gained about 15 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Aaaaabsolutely! Unless they are lounge shorts/pants, I basically wear all maternity clothes. I guess my normal shirts still fit and show off my bump. 🙂 I love my mommy bands though.

Stretch marks? Yes, I have some on my boobs, and I think my hubby spotted one on the side of my belly.

Sleep: Hmmm … not fantastic, but I think I made it pretty far in my pregnancy before having trouble, so I’m grateful for that. 🙂

Best moment of this week: I got to see my girls on Wednesday; they’re gorgeous. I’m celebrating my babies and this pregnancy all weekend in Colorado with my family and friends. It just doesn’t get much better than that.

Miss anything? Not much.

Movement: Yes! Movement all the time!

Food cravings: The same stuff. I have my cheese ravioli about once a week. I LOVE a Coca-Cola fountain drink and chewing on ice.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Not really anymore, though I did lose it my first night in Colorado. Oh, the altitude … nothing a full meal, a lot of water, Tylenol, and some caffeine can’t fix!

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: I think the hunger monster has struck again. I guess when you’re carrying twins, he never actually goes away, but I’ve noticed those extreme get-in-my-belly hunger pains this week. My digestion is a little off; I think there’s less room available for my stomach. The boobs droop and are uncomfortable without support. Trips to the ladies’ room are never ending. There’s a general discomfort I feel if I’m not sitting or laying in a perfect position. I can’t really tie my shoes anymore! I’m feeling a little puffy and am embracing my new mommy fat. I really have never felt more beautiful. 🙂

Belly button in or out? In.

Weddings rings on or off? I think they’re off …

9.12.14

How far along: Today I am 24 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? 16.5 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Yes, except I can get away with non-maternity lounge pants/shorts and most shirts.

Stretch marks? Yes, mostly on my breasts. Perhaps a few on my belly but not a lot.

Sleep: Sleep has been fantastic this week, though I do wake up often throughout the night. No biggie, though. 🙂

Best moment of this week: I got to see my girls on Wednesday. 🙂 They are gorgeous. My mom hosted my baby shower, and I enjoyed time with loved ones in Colorado. I miss them.

Miss anything? Not much.

Movement: Yes – a lot!

Food cravings: A dark fountain soda and crushed ice for dessert. 🙂

Anything make you queasy or sick? Nope, I’m good now. I can even handle my Sarabi’s fish-smelling food. Her coat looks beautiful, but that food smells nasty.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Physical fatigue. My belly is TIGHT today. Discharge. Increased appetite, or learning to re-stabilize my blood sugar, etc. Frequent urination. More than particular symptoms here and there, I just feel like a mama. Big boobs, big belly, out of breath, a bit of a waddle. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m effing adorable. 🙂

Belly button in or out? It’s pushing its way out, and the belly button ring is off!

Weddings rings on or off? Off but around my neck attached to a locket necklace I got for my baby shower. It has a photo of my princesses inside.

9.19.14

How far along: Today I am 25 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? Ugh, I’m not thrilled about it. 16 pounds. My doctors have mentioned no concern at all. I just feel like I should weigh more. Then again, I’m a small person, and each pound accounts for more on me…? Maybe?

Maternity clothes? Yes! Love my mommy pants!

Stretch marks? Yes, but really only on my breasts.

Sleep: Not too shabby this week. 🙂

Best moment of this week: I got to see my girls yesterday. 🙂 They are adorbs. Baby A was drinking her fluid, and Baby B was having a dance party. And while I refer to them as Babies A and B, let it be known – they have names!

Miss anything? Not really.

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Ice! Love. it.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Not anymore.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: Some acne. Upper back/shoulder pain. Food aversion. Crazy veins in my breasts. The faintest linea nigra that isn’t symmetrical at all lol! Physical fatigue and sleepiness. I get winded very easily.

Belly button in or out? It’s on the road to outie!

Weddings rings on or off? Off, and I wear my rings/locket necklace every day!

9.26.14

How far along: Today I am 26 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? Almost 20 pounds.

Maternity clothes? You betcha. I am full-on mommy in my black maternity work pants everyday.

Stretch marks? Yes, underneath my breasts.

Sleep: Can’t complain; could be worse.

Best moment of this week: We went shopping for our girls’ furniture and started organizing the nursery. SURREAL. It was so much fun! Also, my husband is starting to feel their stronger kicks and movements. We were able to see my belly move the other night! Also, I am guessing I don’t have gestational diabetes because I never received notice that I need to re-test or do have it. Thank God for that one.

Miss anything? Getting to experience this season, I miss nothing outside of it!

Movement: Oh yea!

Food cravings: Ice is still awesome. I could use a cup of it right now!

Anything make you queasy or sick? No, but I’m still not cray cray about food.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No. 🙂

Symptoms: My hair gets greasy really quick. I don’t wash it everyday and never have, but lately – so dirty! Out of breath; out of shape. I’m starting to get those mama bear fat stores – my runner legs are huge! I’m tired. I still have food aversion. My feet are swollen, and I’m rockin’ the kankles. I’m starting to waddle. I have a faint linea nigra. Crazy veins in my breasts, and my abdomen is veiny too. Guys, I am just pregnant, and I love it!

Belly button in or out? It’s on its way to an outie.

Weddings rings on or off? Off but around my neck. 🙂

10.3.14

How far along: Today I am 27 weeks 0 days.

Total weight gain? I have no idea. Hopefully I haven’t lost any weight this week. I think that would be the least of my problems though.

Maternity clothes? I’ve been enjoying my husband’s shirts, as well as my lounge pants and shorts … and hospital gowns.

Stretch marks? Yes, still just under my breasts I think.

Sleep: Not so good this week, but that’s okay! I wake up every one to two hours.

Best moment of this week: Every new day the girls and I can progress with this pregnancy is a victory. I guess there are little moments, like good blood pressure readings and chasing my babies on the twice-daily NSTs!

Miss anything? I miss Sarabi, but if having my daughters means I have to experience pre-eclampsia and be in the hospital, then this is my pregnancy, and that’s okay.

Movement: A lot!

Food cravings: My appetite is all confused. The crushed ice at the hospital is absolutely amazing though. 🙂

Anything make you queasy or sick? Just getting stuck with needles for blood draws during a magnesium drip. Also, my first meal post mag. was baked ziti … that quickly came back up.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: No, for what it’s worth. 🙂

Symptoms: Headaches. Neck aches. Back aches. Some edema. Pre-eclampsia. Exhaustion.

Belly button in or out? It’s pushing its way out.

Weddings rings on or off? Off.

How far along: Today I am 27 weeks 4 days.

Total weight gain? I have gained about 20 pounds.

Maternity clothes? I’ve been enjoying my and my husband’s comfy shirts, as well as my lounge pants and shorts.

Stretch marks? None on my belly that I’ve been able to identify – only under my boobs.

Sleep: Eh, I’ve slept.

Best moment of this week: Having my mom arrive from Colorado.

Miss anything? I don’t really miss anything right now.

Movement: Yes, my little girls move a lot.

Food cravings: None really.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Maybe a little of the pre-eclampsia. I did throw up my dinner the other night; kind of out of the ordinary.

Gender: GIRLS!!!

Labor signs: I had some contractions today for which I needed IV fluids.

Symptoms: Headaches. Neck aches. Back aches. Some edema. Pre-eclampsia. Exhaustion. Heartburn. Indigestion. Interesting bowel movements. A bigger belly, thank you Jesus.

Belly button in or out? It’s pushing out but still in.

Weddings rings on or off? Off.

  1. Love this so awesome! You look great. My boobs have been producing milk for several weeks. Yesterday I was outside in my PJ’s talking with my mom and I leaked. First time that happened out of the shower. Oh the joy! I hope your boobs contain the milk for some time. Lol!

  2. You’re almost 1:2 way for a singleton pregnancy! That means you are already more than 1/2 way. Crazy!!
Charlie horses & leg cramps are a pregnancy symptom. Usually means you’re not drinking enough water. I know it probably seems impossible. Some days I feel like my soul purpose is to drink water. 🙂 love that your pregnancy is progressing so smoothly. Minus some stomach upset. Xoxo

    • Oh and the cramps aren’t water related with twin pregnancies. It’s more to do with compressed vessels and need for more calcium. I started taking calcium magnesium and zinc and they’ve mostly vanished. Also stretch your toes upward instead of down when stretching out your legs.

  3. Superb blog you have here but I was curious if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics talked about here? I’d really like to be a part of group where I can get suggestions from other experienced individuals that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks a lot!
